Cryo Therapy

What is Cryo Therapy?

Cryo Therapy is a natural therapy which can be used within the equine sector for the pain relief, management and recovery, and wellbeing of horses.

What does Cryo Therapy?

Cryotherapy is a cold therapy based on liquid nitrogen. The damaged structures are treated with cold. At the time of treatment, blood flow is slowed down as the vessels contract and blood flow is inhibited. For this reason, cold is suitable for the treatment of acute inflammation. It soothes pain, inhibits inflammation, stimulates blood flow and thus supports healing. Pain and inflammation is decreased, toxins and other waste products are removed and blood containing oxygen, healing proteins and other essential nutrients is increased to the affected area. Overall, the body’s natural process of recovery is enhanced enabling the horse to get back to what they love doing quicker

Sometimes cold therapy can also be used for tension and cramps, as the low temperature changes muscle tone and prolongs muscle relaxation when it is applied for 15 to 20 minutes
