Dr. Karin Kruger
 

Dr Kruger qualified (BVSc) from the University of Pretoria in 2006 and in 2007 she completed a 12-month internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pretoria. After working in private practice at the Fourways Equine Clinic in Midrand, she returned to the University of Pretoria.

In 2009 she accepted a position with the North Carolina State University (NCSU). At NCSU, she completed a 3-year residency and became an American board-certified specialist in Equine Internal Medicine. She is currently also recognized as a specialist equine physician by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Karin has held positions as an Equine Internal Medicine specialist at referral hospitals in South Africa, Sweden and the United Kingdom. She has a special interest in cardiology, sports medicine and poor performance, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCVM), acupuncture. After many years as a specialist physician, Karin has incorporated TCVM and Acupuncture in her practice in order to provide better outcomes for her patients. She completed her TCVM and acupuncture training at the prestigious Chi Institute in Florida, USA.

Dr Karin Kruger is an equine internal medicine specialist that provides specialty internal medicine, sports medicine, lameness and poor performance services, as well as an integrative medicine and acupuncture service.

When she is not working she is still an ambitious rider and trains with passion her Belgian Warmblood showjumper Bella, who she is currently competing at 1* international level.
